A spring festival light that seems like a "full version" with 1.3 million visitors

The showmen and market traders, the organizers and many service providers breathed a sigh of relief - after a forced break of two years, the Cannstatter Wasen was once again open for celebrations over the past three weeks.

Andreas Kroll, Managing Director of in.Stuttgart Veranstaltungsgesellschaft: "We started with a light version, but it quickly became a full version. By Sunday, we will have around 1.3 million visitors. That's just a nice story after this long phase without events."

It all started with the tapping of the barrel by "Wasen Mayor" Thomas Fuhrmann on Holy Saturday and a first week with the Easter vacations that showed how much people were longing for pleasure, for variety, for joie de vivre. Kroll: "That was quite impressive, especially how many families rediscovered the Spring Festival as a destination."

Mark Roschmann, Chairman of the Southwest Stuttgart Showmen's Association, emphasized the pioneering role of the Spring Festival: "Stuttgart signaled early on that it would do the festival. That was an important signal to the entire industry and certainly groundbreaking for other cities and organizers. The course was very, very good for us, the execution was perfect and there were many families. That's what we wanted and hoped for."

Next year, the Stuttgart Spring Festival will take place from April 22 to May 14, 2023.
